The message came through on Friday, February 23rd, at 6:24 AM. It was a WhatsApp from my colleague Maarten: “The mail is out.” Curious, I checked my inbox and there it was – an email titled “Welcome to the vExpert program!” I had officially become a vExpert. Amidst the morning chaos of getting the kids ready, the realization took a moment to sink in.
So, what exactly is the vExpert program? Well, in the words of the program’s website, “The VMware vExpert program honors individuals worldwide for their notable contributions to the VMware community and ecosystem. It’s not a technical certification but a recognition for your community efforts. This individual award lasts for a year, from February to January.”
But what did I do to earn this title? I’m an active member of the VMTN forum, sharing insights and content on X and I started my own blog, but you’ve already found it.
Now, onto the perks of being a vExpert. While there are several, in my opinion, the greatest benefit is the access to the vExpert community.
I’m curious about what the next year will bring and what adventures will bring this new journey.
